Everton in Jack Grealish ‘transfer belief’ as Man Utd risk missing out

Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish has emerged as a shock summer transfer target for Everton.

Daily Star Sport understands Manchester United are keen on the attacking midfielder.

And it is believed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are prepared to pay up to £70m for his services.

However, Everton could look to beat the Red Devils to Grealish’s signature as Carlo Ancelotti lines the 24-year-old up as a marquee signing.

Regardless of whether Villa avoid the drop once the football season returns after the coronavirus crisis, the Toffees are poised to make a move of their own.

Jack Grealish has been touted for a move to Manchester United but Everton are interested too

Football Insider claim Everton believe they can lure Grealish to Goodison Park with the promise of working with an elite manager in the form of Ancelotti.

The Italian certainly carries a lot more experience than Solskjaer and Dean Smith in terms of coaching at the very top level.

Everton would also be ready to build a team around the Villa skipper, who is looking to make an impact at international level for England under Gareth Southgate in the near future.

Grealish made the headlines recently for all the wrong reasons when he disobeyed the government’s lockdown regulations.

He attended a party at Ross McCormack’s home.

But the incident is not expected to stop Premier League clubs circling for him.

United lead the charge to snap up the Villa academy product, although Everton’s interest is said to be strong.

Since Villa’s promotion back to the top flight last year, Grealish has shone at Villa Park.

In 26 Premier League appearances this term, he has netted seven goals and provided six assists.

Additionally, he managed two goals and two assists in five Carabao Cup games too as Villa made it all the way to the final before losing 2-1 to Manchester City at Wembley last month.
