Chelsea have been linked with a move for Manchester United’s want away attacker Angel Gomes after the youngster turned down a contract extension at Old Trafford.
The Independent claims Gomes has rejected a new £25,000-a-week plus bonuses offer from United.
Hamburg, Valencia and Benfica have all apparently registered an interest in the 19-year-old, who is out of contract from tomorrow.
Chelsea had reportedly made a lucrative offer to steal one of their rivals’ most talented stars.
Frank Lampard was quizzed this afternoon on if the Blues had made a move to take Gomes to Stamford Bridge.
“It’s never been mentioned in my end, so that’s it,” was the Chelsea boss’ blunt response.

United had been hoping to tie Gomes down to a long-term deal but the youngster wanted assurances over regular first-team football.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke yesterday explaining how things were going behind the scenes.
“I’ve not heard from them last night or this morning, it seems like they haven’t managed to agree,” he regressed.
Chelsea have already got some of their summer transfer business completed as they captured Ajax ace Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

The pair will officially become Chelsea players tomorrow but Lampard is unsure if he will bleed them into the squad straight away as they cannot play any part this campaign.
“I am in the process of arranging that now,” Lampard said.
“Hakim hasn’t played for a while, but we will formulate a plan for them. Whether they can mix in the squad or by themselves.
“That will be up to the way we arrange the plan. Our focus now is to finish the season, and when I feel it is the right time to bring them in to the squad then I will look to do that.”
Lampard is hoping the addition of the new forwards will help his side become more clinical next year.
“I have spoken about it because we do look at stats,” he explained.
“We have had a lot of games which have been crucial where we have had chances but not converted.
“We have shown a good eye for it. We have created a lot. We are scoring more regularly and we’ll strive for more.”
