Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is targeting a reunion with N’Golo Kante at Inter Milan this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Conte brought Kante to Stamford Bridge in his debut season as Blues manager, forking out £32million to prise him away from Leicester.
The French midfielder proved an instant hit in west London, playing an integral part in Chelsea’s Premier League title triumph that year.
Yet after failing to retain the title, Conte was dismissed by the club in 2018 and now finds himself in charge of Inter.
The Italian guided Nerazzurri to a second-place finish in Serie A last season, just one point behind champions Juventus.
As a result, he is now looking to strengthen his Inter squad in a bid to go one better and win the Scudetto next season.
And according to Tuttomercatoweb, Kante is at the top of his summer wish list.
Their report states that Conte has called for Inter officials to go out and buy the Chelsea star, who could be allowed to leave for the right price.
The Blues have already racked up a summer transfer bill of £140million after adding Hakim Ziyech (£36million), Timo Werner (£54million) and Ben Chilwell (£50million) to Frank Lampard’s squad.
They are also understood to be on the verge of paying a club-record £90million fee to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, which will take their total spending to £230million.
Kante could therefore be available for the right price this summer, which is believed to be £45million, as Chelsea officials attempt to balance their books.
However, the 29-year-old has proved a key member of their midfield since joining in 2016 and still has just under three years remaining on his current contract.

Inter are hoping to get him on an initial loan deal with an obligation or an option to buy this summer in order to spread out the cost of the transfer.
The Serie A outfit have dropped their interest in Brescia wonderkid Sandro Tonali as a result, leaving rivals AC Milan to come in for him instead.
