Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to tie Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Emiliano Martinez down to new contracts before the start of the season.
Arteta is gearing up for his first full season as Gunners manager, having replaced Unai Emery in the hot-seat halfway through the 2019/20 campaign.
The Spaniard has already added Willian, who left Chelsea upon the expiry of his contract this summer, to his ranks and a £27million deal for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes is believed to be imminent.
Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares have completed permanent moves to the Emirates after their loan stints in the second half of last season, while star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on the verge of penning a bumper new three-year contract.
And according to The Mirror, Arteta is also keen for Maitland-Niles and Martinez to commit to new deals before their opening Premier League fixture away at Fulham on September 12.
Maitland-Niles, who recently celebrated his 23rd birthday with a first senior England call-up, still has three years remaining on his current contract.
Yet amid reported interest from Wolves, Arteta is determined to remove any lingering doubts over his future in north London by handing him a more lucrative extension.
Arsenal are also prepared to reward Martinez with a new deal after his heroic performances in goal at the back end of last season, which reportedly caught Aston Villa’s eye.
The 27-year-old impressed while filling in for injured No.1 Bernd Leno, pulling off a number of crucial saves in their FA Cup semi-final and final victories over Manchester City and Chelsea.
Arteta seemingly made a statement by selecting him ahead of Leno in Saturday’s Community Shield win over Liverpool, meaning Gunners chiefs are now ready to offer him fresh terms with just two years to run on his current deal.

As well as Maitland-Niles and Martinez, Arsenal are hoping to announce Aubameyang’s new contract before their curtain raiser at Fulham in under two weeks’ time.
The Gabon international, who has just 10 months remaining on his current contract, has reportedly agreed a deal in principle for an extension worth £250,000 per week.
