After scoring on his home debut at Anfield, Liverpool new boy Diogo Jota has thanked his team-mates for the welcome they have provided him with.
The Portuguese international forward joined the Reds from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers for £41million on September 19 and made his first appearance for the club as a substitute in the 7-2 victory at Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup five days later.
Coming off the bench again for his Premier League bow against Arsenal on Monday, the 23-year-old replaced Sadio Mane with just 10 minutes to go but it took him a mere eight minutes to net his first goal for the club, sealing a 3-1 win.
Jota, who was mobbed by his delighted colleagues after his strike, told liverpoolfc.com: “It means a lot. When you arrive at a team that are world champions, you always try to adapt as quickly as possible.
