Liverpool fans have hailed Harvey Elliott after the youngster once again impressed on loan at Blackburn Rovers.
The midfielder set up his side’s first goal in their 2-0 win over Birmingham City as he produced a defence-splitting pass to send Adam Armstrong through on the counter-attack, with the Blackburn striker finishing nicely.
It was the latest moment of brilliance from Elliott’s loan spell in the Championship, with the 17-year-old involved in 10 goals in 18 appearances this season.
His form has caught the eye of Reds fans, keen to monitor how the highly-rated starlet is getting on in his loan.
Former Reds winger Stewart Downing is Elliott’s teammate at Blackburn and he has been full of praise for how the youngster has fitted in at Ewood Park.
While Downing admits Blackburn need to be wary of putting too much pressure on Elliott, he said the former Fulham youth product is proving to be a key player.
“We have to be careful with him because he’s still very young, but he’s almost the go-to man for us at the moment, he’s playing well and getting goals,” he told Blackburn’s official website.
