Daniel James has heaped praise on his new Manchester United team-mate Amad Diallo and revealed the winger has been ‘unbelievable’ in training.
The 18-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Atalanta in January in a deal worth £37million and after impressing for the Under-23s, was handed his first-team debut in last week’s 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad.
Diallo came on as a substitute to play the last seven minutes of the Europa League last-32 first-leg clash and looked sharp on the left-hand side of United’s attack.
And James raved about the numerous qualities the new signing has displayed on the training pitch and in particular, highlighted his neat footwork and pressing ability.
‘Amad has come in and, as a young lad, he’s been unbelievable in training,‘ James told United Review.
‘I mean his professionalism [is very good] and he’s settled in straight away, I’d say, do you know what I mean?
We see his quality in training, he has unbelievable feet, but we’ve seen he also presses well and wins the ball back, which is exactly what we want.‘

United legend Paul Scholes is also aware that his former club have a ‘real talent’ on their hands in Diallo, but harbours doubts over his pace.
‘We didn’t see too much of him tonight,’ Scholes told BT Sport after the Sociedad win.
‘He looks a talented player, I watched him for the Under-23s last week and he scored a goal. He’s got real talent, a nice left foot.
‘Is he quick? I’m not sure, I haven’t seen it yet. He’s a creative player, still a very young player at 18 and he needs to be given time to do well for us.’
