WeAreTottenhamTV‘s loyal Spurs supporters launched into an incredible strop as they watched Jose Mourinho’s men throw away a two-goal advantage to get booted out of the Europa League.
Tottenham looked set to reach quarter-finals of the competition after Harry Kane’s brace went unanswered in their opening leg against Dinamo Zagreb, but were beaten 3-0 after extra-time in Croatia.
Mislav Orsic published his uninspired opponents with a memorable hat-trick to complete the turnaround, leaving Mourinho feeling discouraged and the fanbase seething.
Brothers Ben Daniel and Simeon Daniel, who have built up a large following on YouTube, were two of those who were left with nothing but anger following another cup exit under Mourinho.
While the pair were confident at the beginning of the fixture with a two-goal advantage, they were left on the edge of their seats after Orsic grabbed the opening goal of the evening.
While both Simeon and Ben had their hands on their heads as they praised the strike, their attitudes changed for the worse when the tie was levelled on aggregate.
Ben exclaimed: “F*** off you pieces of s***!”
Following the third goal, Spurs failed to score despite a period of pressure, with Ben then slamming his water bottle off the floor as the brothers ended the day in disarray.
WeAreTottenhamTV have gained over 70,000 subscribers on YouTube since they started back in 2017, and told the BBC back in November of their passion for the club.
Simeon said: ”We just love the club so much. We are passionate about Tottenham and wanted to turn that passion into something.”
With Ben adding: ”Our whole lives have been so invested in the club.
“There was another Tottenham channel before we started but they stopped so there was no Spurs fans’ voice on YouTube at that point – somewhere for authentic fans to voice their opinion.”
Simeon then spoke about a clip of the pair that went viral for the wrong reasons, with West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini making it 3-3 from 3-0 down earlier in the season.
“When a clip like the Lanzini one goes viral, I personally have a bit of anxiety,” admits Simeon.
“Places like ESPN are tweeting it out to millions and everyone is laughing and having a joke. You definitely need a thick skin.
“But then a week earlier we beat Man Utd 6-1 and we get three times the views on the channel that we did against West Ham. People point to the moments where you’re leaving yourself open to be ridiculed but when things go well they don’t say that.”
