Erling Haaland transfer news: Man Utd and Chelsea told by Dortmund ace how to sign him | Football | Sport

Erling Haaland gave a simple, concise message to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea over a summer transfer. Both clubs are among a whole host of sides desperate to snap up the Borussia Dortmund ace.

Dortmund striker Haaland had four words for the likes of United and Chelsea ahead of a prospective transfer battle in the summer.

The Norway international is having a jaw-dropping campaign, scoring 33 in 31 appearances.

That includes 10 in six Champions League outings, becoming the fastest player to reach 20 in the competition ever – in just 14 matches.

It follows on from last year where he introduced himself to the world stage with RB Salzburg, turning down a move to United to sign for Dortmund instead.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows the striker well from his time in charge of Molde, where Haaland also was for a time.

The Red Devils coach insists he is still in contact with his countryman on a regular basis, teasing fans that a transfer could be in the offing.

While Chelsea are also desperate for a striker to convert the chances made by the abundance of talent on show at Stamford Bridge.

Roman Abramovich is ready to spend big bucks to get the man he wants but he is not alone.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all been linked with the 20-year-old, who has a pick of clubs should he wish to leave this summer.

But he had a simple message for those clubs, telling reporters in Norway: “They must want me.”

In the same breath, he also moved to quell rumours of his future, adding: “I still have a three-year contract, I’m not concerned about that.”

However, amid Dortmund’s struggles in the Bundesliga, there is a very real chance that they could miss out on Champions League football next season.

After their draw against lowly Koln, where Haaland scored twice, they sit fifth in the league and four points off the top four.

Without elite European football, it would be hard for the young forward to stick around for another season with the competition one he is obsessed with.

From Dortmund’s point of view, it may actually suit them to sell up this year with his market value tipping into nine figures.

Next summer, Haaland will be able to leave for a fraction of that sum when a release clause worth €65m comes into play.
