Eden Hazard’s underwhelming Real Madrid career may have been given a breath of life by the arrival of former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti this summer.
The Belgian has had a torrid time in Madrid with injuries and criticism surrounding his fitness but Ancelotti’s return to Los Blancos could signify a huge shift in the player’s fortunes.
The Athletic reports new boss Ancelotti is keen on keeping both Hazard and Welsh dynamo Gareth Bale, both of whom have been out of form for large parts of the past two seasons.
Madrid are open to offers but the Italian recognises the talent Hazard possesses and plans to hold talks with the winger after Euro 2020.
Hazard only featured 21 for Real across all competitions last season, scoring four goals as he battled injuries for a second consecutive season.
The midfield maestro could be set for a redemption arc, however, having played his first full 90 minutes in 19 months in Belgium’s recent 2-0 victory over Finland.
A scintillating Euro 2020 followed by progressive talks with Ancelotti could see Hazard remain part of Real’s plans of reclaiming the league title after missing out last season.

The 30-year-old’s Madrid highlight has arguably come off the pitch up until now with his luxurious £10million mansion in in the famous La Finca neighbourhood where some of his teammates reside.
His futuristic home boasts six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, having been designed by Spanish architect Joaquin Torres.
Hazard bought the home from famous Spanish pop-star and 17-time Grammy winner Alejandro Sanz where he lives with wife Natacha and sons Yannis, Leo and Samy.
The house features a gym, spa, tennis court and a cinema room for the whole family to relax in.
The property is filled with gadgets such as automated blackout blinds and walls containing large crystals which keep sunlight out.
