Everton have enjoyed a strong start to the season and the players that the Blues have been linked with in the final days of the transfer window have helped change fans’ previous expectations.
The Toffees enjoyed a glamorous summer under Carlo Ancelotti last year, with James Rodriguez, Allan, Ben Godfrey, and Abdoulaye Doucoure all arriving. Though, the club are working within the confines of a slightly different budget, this time around.
However, as Rafa Benitez is reportedly said to be working on linking up with striker Salomon Rondon for a third time, Everton fans have delivered an early verdict on their transfer business.
Restricted to free agents and spending £1.5m on Demarai Gray so far this summer, the Blues have had to be sharp-witted in their search for reinforcements.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Nathan Patterson are both known targets , while other names have also been linked with a move to Goodison Park, but it is Rondon who would be the most indicative of their summer dealings.
Rondon typifies Benitez’s style of play, being a targetman in need of crosses into the box. The pair worked together at Newcastle and Chinese side Dalian Pro, where the Venezuelan is currently contracted.
With Moise Kean reportedly set to re-join Juventus on loan, Everton are in need of a striking plan B and Rondon is a known quantity to the Spanish coach.
As the team has already displayed this season, the Blues have prioritised getting crosses into the box for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, provided by new signings Gray and Andros Townsend, suggesting a coherent recruitment strategy.
Rafa Benitez faced a degree of criticism when he arrived at the club, given his previous connections, but if the good results continue and his signings prove effective, the season could be a positive one for the Blues.
